Layers, layers, layers, a necessity for fall weather when then weather is perfectly cool but now that the heat is on in every building and 90°, having a layer or two you can shed is crucial, and necessary for when you must venture outside.

Homeless in New York anyone? My mom hates my "homeless sweater," or so she calls it, but I love how comfy it is with this oversized, super soft tee.

Sweater & Jeggings: Abercrombie & Fitch

If there was a "prep" uniform, this would be it. Plaid button-up, sweater, and blazer. I am so in love with this outfit. The sweater over a button-up is definitely my fall uniform.

Sweater: Old Navy
Blazer: Target
Minnie Pants: J. Crew
Shoes: Michael Kors

It's a little out-of-the-box for me, but I love this dress by Phillip Lim for Target, super comfortable, and a perfect fit with draping right where you want it to be, and it's the perfect length for school! And I love the print on print with the scarf but the color makes it less obvious.

I put this outfit together with my Fossil pieces in mind and I'm absolutely in love with it. The neutral colors with the burgundy tights are a fabulous combination and I can't wait to wear it again! It had such a luxe and almost a modern 20's feel.

Dress, Handbag, Watch, Bracelet: Fossil
Vest, Tights: The Limited
Shoes: BCBG via Dillard's
Necklace, Belt: American Eagle

Here's another way I wore the vest, even though it's (faux) fur, it can be dressy or casual.

Casual shopping day with my mom, cool but not cold, so a couple lighter layers were key. I've also dubbed black leggings the new ultimate neutral. Even with brown.

Flannel: Abercrombie
Jacket: Hollister
Leggings: Target
Boots: Mia via Macy's

Trying out a new fall color combo, mint and mustard. I think I kinda like it. I LOVE mint for fall and mustard is a fall staple (of course), but together, I feel like they're a bit unexpected.

Disclaimer: I'm sure I've got a J. Crew catalogue somewhere with this combination. So I probably unknowingly copied it.

Sweater: Banana Republic (men's)
Jeans: Gap
Belt: American Eagle
Shoes: Gianni Bini

The Windy City

It was my first time in the great city of Chicago, Jason ran the Chicago Marathon (finished in 4:08, a bit over what he wanted but when your legs cramp for the last ELEVEN miles, that's super impressive! And turns out he was 14,131 out of 38,884, that's top 37%! I'm so proud of him!) and we were up for the weekend. We stayed right across from Grant Park, on Michigan Avenue, where the race starts and finishes, and it's beautiful! I can't wait to come back again! Maybe to run in the race myself! (Yeah right.)

Some of my fav city photos!

Our hotel!

Grant Park

And of course we couldn't come to Chicago without getting some real Chicago-Style Pizza. And it was DE-LISH-OUS.

Just Maggie

I'm sure you've seen that I've changed the name at the top of my blog. The other was just..not right. So, I thought, who am I? I'm just Maggie. And not solely in that, I'm me, no one special or super interesting, just your common wife/college student/wannabe-fashionable-teacher/common person trying to live life as God would have me live it. But a surprisingly large percentage of the times I've introduced myself to someone, I get asked the question, "So, are you Margaret?" And my reply is always, "No(pe, ma'am, sir, what have you), just Maggie."

I'm, just Maggie.

And in the spirit of "being me," Jason always makes fun of my monkey arms and thinks it's hilarious when I make the "I-don't-know" jesture with my arms so, here it is, have yourself a chuckle.

Home Sweet Home

So, I've mentioned that we're moving to Alabama, but I've yet to talk much about it because of issues (delays) in the closing of our Kentucky home which pushed the close of our Alabama home back, and I didn't want to go and tell all about it which the chance something could happen and everything fall apart!
BUT I'm so happy that I can finally tell and show everyone our new home in Alabama, I've been holding on to these pictures for quite some time now and I'm finally ready to show the world! I'll try not to make this post forever long but we got in when only the studs were up and got to choose all the finishes #soexciting!

We're beyond blessed to have such a beautiful house, I can't wait to show y'all how our master bedroom turns out once we get furniture in it, but we've got 2 extra beds and a blow up mattress, only an hour from the beach if anyone wants to come visit! Thank you to everyone who's been thinking about us and to my mom and dad who went down with me this last weekend and helped out, fixing up the front porch, hanging curtains and such, I can't wait to get back down there in December and decorate for Christmas, my favorite!

So, I'm really in love with this outfit, it's casual "Friday" at my school since tomorrow starts their fall break, hence the jeans and casual outfit. I've loved the denim on denim look but this is styled a little differently than usual, the fab glittery belt and shoes make all the difference!

Top: J. Crew
Jeans: Gap (for $12 on clearance!)
Shoes: FootJoy

P.S. My students loved this outfit. And my FootJoy golf shoes are apparently "so thug". That gives me street cred right?

(They're golf shoes! Just the "cool" kind with no cleats.)
